MAG Builds Stronger MRO and Engineering Platform Through Strategic Global Partnerships

MAG builds a stronger MRO and engineering platform through global partnerships across maintenance, logistics and technology.

Singapore, 9 October 2026 – Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) is strengthening its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and engineering capabilities across the maintenance and supply chain operations through seven strategic partnerships with leading global aviation, engineering, technology and logistics companies. These partnerships will enhance fleet reliability, strengthen operational resilience and create a stronger foundation for long-term MRO growth. Announced during MRO Asia-Pacific 2026 in Singapore, the partnerships bring together global expertise and capabilities across component support, engineering, materials management and aviation logistics. Collectively, they strengthen the resources and industry relationships supporting MAG’s airlines, while expanding the capabilities and opportunities of its engineering business. Captain Nasaruddin A. Bakar, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of MAG said, “ The past year has continued to be a challenging one for the aviation industry, volatility in fuel prices and other pressures that have a direct impact on our operations and financial performance. These realities make it even more important that we remain disciplined in how we run the business and where we invest. At the same time, we cannot lose sight of the need to build for the future. Our focus is therefore not simply on strengthening standalone maintenance activities, but on establishing an integrated, resilient MRO and engineering platform for the Group. These partnerships bring together global expertise, technical capabilities and supply chain support with our own engineering strengths, enabling us to better support our airlines while also creating opportunities to grow our MRO business. Together, they strengthen the foundation for a more efficient, reliable and commercially capable engineering operation.” The partnerships with Thales, Airbus Flight Hour Services (FHS), Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M), The Boeing Company and Collins Aerospace strengthen Malaysia Airlines’ access to component support, repair capabilities, technical expertise and materials management across its fleet. Together, these collaborations enhance the availability of critical components and parts, support maintenance planning and improve the responsiveness of engineering operations. The collaboration with CEVA Logistics further strengthens the supply chain supporting Malaysia Airlines’ engineering and operational requirements, providing integrated logistics support for aircraft components, critical spare parts and other materials. This complements the Group’s broader efforts to strengthen supply chain resilience and support timely maintenance requirements across its network. At the same time, MAG is strengthening the role of MAB Engineering Services, the Group’s engineering arm, as an MRO service provider to external airline customers. Its expanded collaboration with Batik Air Malaysia builds on the line maintenance support provided across multiple locations and reflects growing confidence in MAB Engineering Services’ technical and operational capabilities. Together, the seven partnerships strengthen MAG’s MRO and engineering platform by bringing together global industry expertise, technical capabilities and supply chain support with the Group’s own engineering and maintenance strengths. This enhances the reliability and efficiency of MAG’s operations while strengthening its ability to support a wider customer base.
