Malaysia Airlines Enhances Connectivity with 48 Additional Red – Eye Flights for Hari Raya Aidilfitri; Send-Off Event by Minister of Transport

Malaysia Airlines celebrated the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive period with a special send-off ceremony for one of the 48 red-eye flights, part of 200 additional flights deployed for the festive period at KLIA Terminal 1.

KLIA, 29 March 2025 – Malaysia Airlines celebrated the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive period with a special send-off ceremony for one of the 48 red-eye flights, part of 200 additional flights deployed for the festive period at KLIA Terminal 1. The event was graced by Yang Berhormat Tuan Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport Malaysia, who joined passengers in marking the occasion.

As part of the celebration, YB Loke addressed departing passengers on flight MH7404 to Kota Kinabalu at the boarding gate before distributing special festive treats to commemorate the occasion. He was accompanied by YB Datuk Chan Foong Hin, Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities and Member of Parliament for Kota Kinabalu; Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, Group Managing Director of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG); Captain Nasaruddin A. Bakar, Chief Operating Officer of Malaysia Airlines and Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines (MAG). The flight departed as scheduled at 11:20pm. Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, Group Managing Director of MAG, commented, “As we expand our capacity with over 200 additional and upgraded flights, our goal is to make travel smoother and more accessible for all. Hari Raya is a time of reunion and celebration, and we are committed to ensuring that those celebrating are able to make the trip home or join their loved ones wherever they may be. The fixed-fare flights are meant to not only accommodate the surge in travel demand during festive seasons but also making travel more affordable with the support of the government." This Hari Raya period, Malaysia Airlines will be deploying a total of 415 weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Sabah and Sarawak from 26 March to 9 April 2025.
